Are mercenaries worth it yet? As the title says, as given my massive success in using hired blades, crossbowmen sharpshooter and merc cavalry in OG mount and blade to farm renown etc, I'd like to do same again in bannerlord as come on those hired blades in OG nothing to sniff at. Navigate to the settlement/castle you want to grant to your companion. It automatically selects the closest. Open the party screen and talk to your companion. Click the "I wish to make you my vassal." option. Select the settlement you wish to grant them. Name the clan in the pop up.
Irregulars - A Mercenary Overhaul + is a mod that aims to bring a lot of variety and flexibility to the mercenaries you can hire in the tavers of calradia. As such you need to have the Disciplinarian perk in order to transfer a Bandit unit to a proper unit. This perk can be found in the Leadership tree. You must get Leadership to level 125 and then choose the Disciplinarian perk from the skill tree. That is the only way you can train bandits to become proper units within your army.
Also they have no ****ING money when they have no fiefs so having a buncha mercs is a oversight or bug, one way or the other. Either there's some glitch letting them get paid anyways , or they won't leave when they don't get paid, or more wealthy factions are not offering them more. They're mercs, they should go to whoever can pay the most.
